I always searched for a set of LS-40s as I always thought about the early intimate shows of nineteen sixties British bands. I never could find a good pair as their size limits their postage. originally I was using a set of sixty seven LS-40s but the damage was done to them before I had received them, and so they couldn't be used. I found this set about a year after letting the last pair go.
These are sixty five LS-40s in original condition with covers. They sound soft and intimate with no distractions between the singer and the crowd, especially when using the intended Vox amplifier. I think it's important for the vocals to be on the same understanding as the instruments in term of their amplification. Some may complain about the sound quality but I like to think that something authentic was heard when a show was amplified with an old P.A. system. I run these speakers with my 1965 Vox AC-100 and the pair sit very tight in view, sound and age.

The input connecter are XLR and after finding an XLR cable and rewiring it to the original Vox settings, as Vox wiring was different, the transport and set up of these is far easier than any other modern P.A. amplification. originally was drew my attention to older P.A. system was the public safety. As many modern P.A. systems tower overhead on stands that are usually black and extend out along the floor to be trip hazards, these speaker only take up the small amount of room that they need and sit firmly on the ground.
